There are two positions to be filled.

The role will require you to assist the SCAN Editor in the production, management and organisation of the more light-hearted section of the paper, Carolynne – which encompasses Culture, Features, Fashion and Lifestyle. The role includes writing for Carolynne and liaising with press officers and PR companies.

The role will also require you to:

  • Work closely with the Features Editor, Culture Editor, Lifestyle Editor and Fashion Editor and help them in their work and development of their sections.
  • Establish a good working relationship with the various cultural societies on campus and organisations in Lancaster and stay informed as to what shows/events/performances they are putting on.
  • Arrange interviews with people of interest within and beyond the University.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, confident in leading a team and have excellent administrative and communication skills. They should also have a good understanding the social and cultural scene at the University and in Lancaster.

Applicants should also be prepared to take a ‘hands on’ role in relation to the social side of SCAN – this will be mainly, but not limited to, helping to organise the various socials that occur throughout the year.

Experience in SCAN is highly desirable but applications will be considered from applicants with other relevant experience.
