Careers Talk: ‘Colour Me Confident. One night only!’

On Tuesday Week 9, Cliff Bashford of image consulting firm ‘Colour Me Beautiful’ will be speaking to students about perception in job interviews and similar corporate environments. The talk will take place in the Management School, A238/A241 (Lecture Theatre 03), starting at 6pm. Since 1991, Bashford has been the ‘leading consultant’ at Colour Me Beautiful.

Bashford is a ‘Personal Stylist, TV Presenter and Global Trainer for Colour Me Beautiful’. His career spans three decades and he is one of only a few to hold ‘Master Status with the International Federation of Image Consultants’. He currently has a client base of over ‘20,000’ individuals, which includes TV presenters and politicians. Banks, financial institutions and companies of all kinds use the services provided by Colour Me Beautiful to help their staff project a stronger image and to encourage confidence amongst their employees.

Their clients, as listed by the company’s website, include the Financial Times, Credit Suisse, Unilever, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Lloyds. Bashford has also appeared on Granada Television and BBC2, as well as presenting products live on QVC as well as taking part in other programmes. Colour Me Beautiful has released several books, the most recent entitled ‘Colour Me Confident’, which discusses their views on colour blocking in relation to age, height and body type. To find out more information on the work done by the company, the Guardian published a review on ‘Colour Me Confident’ and the BBC has also featured research which they have undertaken. Bashford has also partaken in programmes on BBC Radio Lancashire.
