The Rock, Metal and Punk Society (RocSoc) has announced the biggest gig that it has hosted in its 30 years of its existence.

The society has booked world famous black metal band Hecate Enthroned to play the Yorkshire House venue in Lancaster city centre for its Halloween event on Thursday evening, week 4. Support acts will include Gods of War, a metal band from Liverpool which features two Lancaster University members, and Insurgency, which features former Lancaster University students. Lancaster-based thrash metal band Callus is also on the bill along with Barrow-based death metal band Repulsive Vision.

Formed in 1995, Hecate Enthroned have gained a prolific status in the underground metal scene and have developed an international fanbase, having recently appeared at the Czech Republic’s Hell Fast Attack Festival and played shows in Spain, Norway, Bulgaria and Germany among other countries.

RocSoc puts on regular gigs each term featuring independent acts from the local area and beyond, but this is the first time that the society has booked an internationally famous signed band.
