Lancaster Music Festival 2014: On campus

Loading

LMF will span five days, from Thursday, week 1 to Monday, week 2. Lancaster University will be heavily involved this year, with Live at the Oak hosting three main stages over three days; this looks to be the University’s biggest live music event of recent times.

Day 1 – 09/10/2014

The first stage will be situated in Pendle College Bar in conjunction with Pendle Live. Kick-starting the night will be campus acts Zlew is Dead, BC555 and Fumina Hamasaki. The night will be rounded off with the double headline from Lancaster’s favourite reggae rockers Jeramiah Ferrari and the loop-pedal master RemedySounds.

Day 2 – 10/10/2014

The second evening of live music takes the bands north to Bowland College bar for a chilled out acoustic/folk and open mic night. Bowland gives you the chance to rest your feet from the previous night’s two-stepping with the laid back melodies of Molly Warburton and the Shady Days. Then the Lakeland acoustic duo Ivory Veins will take to the stage with their chilled vibes just before it’s your turn to take to the floor with the Even Later… Open Mic session. Finally to close out the night before you melt away with relaxation, Templybys will bring the funk and wake you right up with their up-beat toe tapping tunes.

Day 3 – 11/10/2014

The final night of music brings the noise to County Bar, the home of Live at the Oak. On first is loop-pedal extraordinaire Mat Baker ready to blow your mind. The second act of the night, All Becomes Clear is at the forefront of the grunge revival and there is no stopping them right now. This is the headline act’s first show of their UK tour, Attention Thieves, hailing from Reading, having received national acclaim from Kerrang!, Rock Sound Magazine and Big Cheese Magazing and have recently gigged with Deaf Havana. To play out the night in style, funksters Sensory Hoverload will be coming all of the way from New Jersey, USA just for your listening pleasure. What more could you possibly need from a Saturday night?

The doors are open from 7pm for each night and the shows will run until approximately midnight on Thursday and Friday. For Saturday night, County Bar have obtained a late licence meaning they will be open until as late as 2am. Remember, it’s free entry.
